What 3 Words - Why You Should Download The App

What 3 Words is an app which you can download on any device free of charge and it could literally save someone's life - plus it has some other uses you may not have thought of... 

What does it do ?

Basically the creators of What3Words have managed to map the world into 3m x 3 m squares and given each one a randomly generated 3 word reference. 

When you turn it on - it pin points your location exactly and generates the 3 word reference - the words allocated to the specific 3x3 square never change. You can then provide this reference to emergency services, friends or family and when they enter it into the app/website at their end they will see your exact location. 

Features include viewing the location by map or by aerial view, sharing the location with others, navigating using Google or Apple Maps. 

Who Would Benefit from this ? 

Everyone! As we are an emergency medical website, we want you to think of hobbies you pursue or places you visit where it may be difficult to explain where you are... because in an emergency, lost or vague about location is the last thing you want to be...

Personally we know of  What 3 Words helping; a person who had fallen & broken his leg when hiking, a combine harvester fire which was located and put out quickly saving the remaining crops, an injured horse rider needing medical attention, a cyclist with a damaged bike needing to be collected and a person who had forgotten where they had left their car whilst out shopping.
